Google unveils new technology

Paige Wilson
Assistant Business Manager

It has been an idea of the future, right up there with the flying car, but now it is reality. The hands-free car was unveiled by Google. Google has made the jump from search engine to automotive engine. Their new technology gives people the ability to have hands free driving. First there was cruise control, then cars that parked themselves, then cars that prevented fender benders, now a hands-free car.

With a 360 degrees camera attached to the top of the car it can detect stop signs, cars, street signals, even people. They hope when they introduce the car on a large scale that it will decrease car accidents by half. However, they do stress that the technology is there to help and that the driver should still be driving.
