Young Writers Award lets students spread their wings

Kelly Stewart

Staff Writer

The students of Coppell High School who love to write can now enter their work in the Bennington Young Writers Competition, which is hosted by Bennington College to encourage high school students to write.

Students can submit their art into one of three categories; poetry, fiction (short stories or one-act plays) and nonfiction (personal or academic essays). The applications for the contest are in Mr. Bowden’s room, C231. The first prize is $500 and be in the “News” section of the Bennington College website, www.bennington.edu. The second place winner will receive $250. The deadline is Nov. 1, so don’t wait!
