Coming off a 58-54 win over Marcus on Friday night, the Coppell boys basketball team hosts Hebron in the CHS Arena, tipoff at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

“We’ve just got to keep playing winning games to get a good spot in playoffs,” Coppell junior guard Ryan Agarwal said. “We control our own destiny from here on out.”

Coming into practice this week, Coppell (13-2, 7-1 in District 6-6A) focused on tightening its defense and preventing a stagnant offense. The Cowboys have also been working on their shots in hopes to out-rebound Hebron (10-7, 4-3 in District 6-6A).

“[Hebron] is a younger team. They play hard and physically,” Coppell junior forward Naz Brown said. “They’re fighting for a spot in playoffs just like we are, we need to come off strong.”

The Cowboys currently hold first place in District 6-6A and with six district games remaining before playoffs. Coppell is looking to win its third consecutive district championship.

“Every game that we play from here on out is what we consider the biggest game of the year,” Coppell senior guard Ben Klement said. “We can’t afford losses. We’re going to come out with a strong mentality out the game and not let up.”
