The William T. Cozby Public Library will hold an opening ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 19. The celebration will begin with a ribbon cutting at 9 am, and continue on throughout the whole day.

The wait is over. With its new teen and children’s section, studying rooms and bright atmosphere, the Coppell’s new and improved public library is now open to the community.

The William T. Cozby Public Library, having officially reopened its doors on Oct. 31, will hold an opening ceremony to commemorate the occasion on Saturday.

The ceremony is a casual, come and go event held throughout the whole day. It will commence with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 am, to mark the occasion members of the community have been waiting for since October 2015.

“I’m volunteering in this event because I’m a part of the League of Teen Nations Program and we help the library conduct events for kids,” junior Ishita Khatwad said. “I’m looking forward to being there for the community.”

Both indoors and outdoors, the event will have activities, such as face painting, a petting zoo, crafts and tours of the renovated library.

“I really like the new library and all it has to offer,” Khatwad said. “Everybody should go [to the ceremony].”

For a quick bite, food trucks from Geaux Cajun and Gandolfo’s will be outside, accompanied by entertainment from the band, Fortissimo Five, and magician, James Wand.

Admission is free, and the event welcomes citizens of all ages.
