If you are ever in the mood for something savory and sweet then this recipe is perfect for you. This was my grandma’s recipe for the best Peanut Butter Bars and they will not disappoint. So get prepared to taste heaven.

These bars have the perfect chewiness consistency and the chocolate on top is smooth and soft. Peanut butter bars like these are great for any occasion. Photo by Aubrie Sisk.

Ingredients:

½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup peanut butter
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ cup sifted powdered sugar
¼ cup peanut butter
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 egg

What to do:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 inch by 13 inch pan.
In a small bowl, mix butter, sugar, brown sugar and one egg until it is creamy and smooth.
In a large bowl, blend the peanut butter, baking soda, salt and vanilla.
Pour sugar mixture into the large mixture and add flour and oatmeal.
Put in oven for 20 minutes.
Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter, chocolate chips and milk together until smooth.
After the bars are cooked, drizzle powdered sugar mix over the pan delicately.
Best served warm with a cup of milk. Enjoy!
