Jimmy John’s stops using their famous sprouts on sandwiches

By Jordan Thompson
Staff Writer

Now that Coppell has been gifted with a new Jimmy John’s on Denton Tap right in between the new Einstein’s and Smash Burger, I have been more excited about lunch time than before. In fact, one of my favorite things about their subs was the sprouts that came on almost every sandwich. I recently discovered, after ordering an original Turkey Tom a few days ago, that the company has decided to stop using sprouts and instead incorporate sliced cucumbers to their sandwiches.
Though I can not say I was thrilled, I was open-minded. While I still love Jimmy Johns, I miss the sprouts, and I have noticed that some other people do, too.
Naturally, I thought to ask why they decided to make the change, and apparently sprouts were not selling enough. Only time will tell whether cucumbers will do Jimmy John’s good.
