A record of 174 member of the Coppell Band have advanced to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, which will be taking place on May 25 and 27 in Austin, TX.
The new record breaks the previous record of 171 students. The number of students being sent from Coppell to the state competition has a chance to be the most out of any school in the state of Texas. For the students, it is a privilege to qualify for the state competition.
” It is an honor to qualify for state,” said senior Shane Murray. ” It shows the work I have put into the music program over the past few years.”
