Coppell keeps up streak with 4-1 rout of Keller Fossil Ridge

    By Chris Reagan

    Staff Writer

The Cowboys continued their undefeated season, improving their record to 3-0 in district and 14-0 overall.

Coppell appeared to start off strong with a goal within the first few minutes of play but it was disallowed due to an offside call. Junior Zunil Narsing made up for this assisting senior Laurent Maksoud for a goal shortly after. Sophomore Chris Madden also scored off a left footed rip a few minutes later.

The boys dominance was present all game as anytime the Fossil Ridge was able to get possession the Cowboy defenders quickly sent it back up the forwards.

The second half started out much like the first with a goal scored in the first minutes of play after the Fossil Ridge keeper mishandled a shot from freshen Ryan Barlow.

Fossil Ridge quickly answered back less then a minute later scoring their only goal of the game.

The win keeps up Coppell’s winning streak and also brings the Cowboys to outscoring district opponents 17-2. This is going into the much-anticipated rivalry game against Southlake Carroll on Friday.

“The wins, especially by such a large margin, are building confidence,” senior captain Derek Crocker said, “ Overconfidence is our only enemy.”

Go support the Boys and girls as they take on Southlake on Friday. Girls are home, boys are away.
