blink-182 rocks Dallas

Blink-182 rolled into Dallas last night and gave a performance that no one will ever forget.

All fans should thank the almost fatal airplane crash that drummer Travis Barker was in because otherwise there would have been no concert last night. The reunion has made many fans happy and the band members seemed to be happy about it too.

Although blink-182 did not perform until nine, the opening bands got the crowd pumped. Asher Roth started off and was the low point of the whole performance, but everyone still sang along to his one hit wonder, “I Love College”.

Next on stage was The All-American Rejects. The lead singer, Tyson Ritter, came on stage in nothing but his underwear and oil all over his body to the amusement of the audience. While Ritter’s own show was interesting, the band played all their top hits, “Swing, Swing”, “Move Along”, “Dirty Little Secret” and “Gives You Hell”, and the crowd was definitely pleased.

After The All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy was the special guest of the night and had an amazing performance. Their stage had an interesting background of a gorilla in a city and big block letters of their initials, F.O.B. The band played all their top hits like “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs”, “Sugar We’re Going Down”, “Dance, Dance” and a few from their new CD, Folie à Deux , like “I Don’t Care”.

Besides playing their own songs, the lead singer, Patrick Stump, decided to play the rock anthem “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey randomly during their performance.  Stump sounded exactly like the Journey lead singer, Steve Augeri, and the crowd went insane.

Finally, all the opening acts were done and blink-182 came on stage. The members, Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Barker, played as if there was never a break up. They played all their greatest hits like “All the Small Things”, “I Miss You”, “The Rock Show”, “Always”, “First Date” and so many others.

Each member had their own solo act but the one to remember was Barkers’ last drum solo. He and his drum set stage all of a sudden started flying through the air moving from side to side then doing a 360 to finish the stunt. Barker never messed up and it was a great way to end the concert.

Overall, the concert was fantastic, all the fans had a blast, there were a few fights here and there but no one will forget this concert.
